ROXAS City – NOPSSCEA-Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias repeated as champions in the tertiary men’s basketball of the Western Visayas Private School Athletic Association Meet here.
The NOPSSCEA made a return trip to the National PRISAA following a 97-68 victory over the ILOPRISAA-Western Institute of Technology in the do-or-die gold medal match on Wednesday.
Christian Montepio spearheaded the offense of NOPSSCEA with 25 points while Jeffrey Manday contributed 16 markers.
Also part of the squad of head coach Elvin Atinado were Shane Joseph Dichoso, John Philip Egat, Carl Magbanua, Sean Sajo, Reymart Caranoo, Billy Rojo, Rey Alexander Jalapa, John Loyd Licawan, and Ritz Nemenzo.
For the ILOPRISAA, Miguel Sasuman finished with 16 points while Marvin Cuerbo added 15 markers in the do-or-die showdown.
NOPSSCEA was stretched to a do-or-die match after the ILOPRISAA came up with a narrow 80-79 victory on Wednesday morning.
In the tertiary women’s basketball, ILOPRISAA emerged as the champion following a 91-80 victory over the CAPRISAA in the finals./PN
