MANILA – Sen. Francis Pangilinan sees nothing wrong with bringing the issue of drug-related killings in the country to the international community.
He was reacting to the statement made by Sen. Panfilo Lacson that the handlers of former police officer Arturo Lascañas are hatching a destabilization plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.
Lascañas earlier testified before the Lacson-led public order committee accusing then Davao City mayor Duterte of ordering and paying policemen to kill crime suspects and political opponents.
The self-confessed former Davao Death Squad (DDS) leader also shared that four other members of the shadowy vigilante group want to testify.
In October last year, Lascañas first appeared before the committee on justice denying the allegations made by self-confessed hit man Edgar Matobato against Duterte and his links to the DDS.
Pangilinan, meanwhile, denied allegations that the opposition Liberal Party is plotting the ouster of Duterte.
Duterte’s appointees are the ones destroying the present government, according to him.
“PNP may problema. BID may problema. NFA may problema. NIA may problema. Tourism Promotions Board may problema. Secretary (Perfecto) Yasay may problema.
