The Diocese of Novaliches has warned the faithful against a non-Catholic priest and a priest who went absent without official leave (AWOL) reportedly performing priestly duties in the area.
In a circular dated November 11 and made public on Friday, Bishop Roberto Gaa cautioned the parishioners against Fr. Alladin Castro and Fr. Richard Bolaton, as both are not authorized to perform such responsibilities.
As for Bolaton, the Novaliches diocese added that he “has no Priestly Faculties to perform any religious activities anywhere in the Philippines.”
“There is also information that Fr. Bolaton is still able to say Mass here in the diocese together with his group. Fr. Bolaton is an AWOL priest of the Diocese of Tarlac,” said the circular.
At the same time, the diocese urged the people to immediately report to the Chancery any information about their religious activities within the Diocese or nearby Dioceses.
“The above-named persons may not be invited to celebrate Mass or administer the sacraments in churches and semi-public oratories of this Diocese, not even funeral masses at funeral homes or to perform blessings,” it said.
“In addition, please refer to Circular 2019-03 and Circular 2021-01 for the list of irregular priests and lay persons posing as priests who are barred to administer the Sacraments here in the Diocese of Novaliches,” it added.
It also asked parishes to post the said circulars must be posted and disseminated to funeral homes within their district. (PNA)
