OFWs, seafarers priority for Janssen vaccines

ROXAS City – Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and seafarers here going back to work in the next four months will be given priority for the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, the city government received Janssen allocations.

OFWs and seafarers will be prioritized because their destination countries require specific vaccines (Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna).

The vaccination will be on a first come, first served basis.

But interested OFWs and seafarers must register today, July 23 at the city hall grounds starting at 8 a.m. They must bring necessary documents to prove their Roxas City residency.

On July 20, the province of Capiz received its 15th delivery of COVID-19 vaccines from the national government through the Department of Health.

A total of 30,000 doses of Janssen COVID-19 vaccine were received by the Provincial Health Office donated by the US government.

The PHO said the vaccines will be allocated for the population belonging to priority subgroups such as A1 (remaining frontline health workers); A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (adults with co-morbidities)./PN
