SHORTLY after Ogie Diaz was served with three cyber libel complaints by Bea Alonzo, he said that he would not want any more pretensions with how he would address the matter.

Diaz took to his Facebook account on Thursday, May 2, to state that he doesn’t want to be fake with his intentions in making sure that the case lodged by Alonzo against him were put to order.

While citing his Showbiz Update online show, Diaz reiterated what he claimed he and his co-anchors were always saying in their show — that Alonzo and her ex-fiance Dominic Roque would end up together.

Tulad ng lagi naming hinihirit sa Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update, sila pa rin ang gusto naming magkatuluyan sa ending,” he said.

Diaz, as well as his Showbiz Update co-hosts, received three separate cyber libel complaints by Alonzo’s camp, which were filed at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, which include “false” reports of her alleged failure to pay her taxes.

Aside from Diaz, Cristy Fermin and her co-hosts were also the recipients of such complaints, including an unnamed netizen who pretended to know the actress.

Diaz’s co-hosts, Fermin, and other involved personalities have yet to comment on the matter as of this writing.

The legal counsel of Alonzo, meanwhile, said the actress is “greatly devastated” by the “defamatory” reports made against her.

Speaking in a “24 Oras” interview on Thursday, Atty. Joey Garcia said Alonzo’s lodging of complaints against the involved personalities is her way of “asserting her rights.”

“For the record, this is the very first time that Bea is doing this,” he said. “She has been in the industry for more than 20 years, and yes, she was greatly devastated, she was affected by all these defamatory statements thrown against her.”

Garcia said the actress hopes the involved personalities receiving these cyber libel cases will be “held responsible.” (Hannah Mallorca © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
