AFTER three consecutive weeks of price hikes this year, motorists are expected to enjoy lower fuel prices as oil firms are set to implement a rollback today.
In separate advisories yesterday, January 27, Caltex, CleanFuel, PetroGazz, Petron, Seaoil, and Shell, said they will reduce diesel and gasoline prices by P0.20 and P0.80 per liter, respectively.
Caltex, Petron, Seaoil, and Shell will also slash kerosene prices by P0.50 per liter.
Other oil firms were expected to follow suit.
The Department of Energy-Oil industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected a reduction in prices of fuel products, citing the reopening of refineries and ports in the US Gulf Coast, and the proposed tariffs of US President Donald Trump.
Data from the DOE showed that as of January 21, gasoline has a total net increase of P3.45 per liter.
Diesel, meanwhile, has a total net hike of P5 per liter, while kerosene has a total net increase of P4.30 per liter. (PNA)
