ROXAS City – A 70-year-old man and a three-year-old girl died in separate drowning incidents in Capiz province.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27, senior citizen Felimon Esteban fell off his boat while fishing in a deep water-filled field in Barangay Balucuan, Dao town.
Relatives spotted his floating body a few hours after, according to the Dao police station.
Meanwhile, a three-year-old girl fell into a river in Barangay Magubilan, Panay town over the weekend.
According to witnesses, a portion of the riverbank where she was standing gave way, plunging her into the river.
The girl didn’t know how to swim; she was swept away by the water.
