AKLAN – One passenger died and eight others were injured after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a wing van in Barangay Lalab, Batan town on Tuesday, June 18.
The fatality, alias “Jimboy,” 20 and a resident of Barangay Andagao, Kalibo, was stuck at the front passenger seat.
Police said he was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
According to the Batan Municipal Police Station, one of the tires of the SUV suffered a blowout and it crashed against a wing van running in the opposite direction.
Other passengers of the SUV including the driver were thrown out of the vehicle due to the impact.
The wing van’s driver was unharmed despite its damaged front seat, police added./PN
