BORACAY – Business establishments in this island resort still have until Aug. 15 to secure their permits.
Environment secretary Roy Cimatu on Thursday said the one-stop shop located on the second floor of City Mall Boracay will help the businesses process the permits faster.
The shop houses representatives from the Departments of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of the Interior and Local Government and Department of Tourism.
The permit application is part of the government’s “no compliance, no operation” policy which will start on Oct. 26 – the island’s scheduled reopening.
“They have to go there (one-stop shop) to update their papers. As of now, their ECCs (environmental compliance certificate) are suspended and the only way for them to restore or lift it is to update (their papers),” Cimatu said.
“We will distinguish those who are compliant, those who have violations before but they were able to correct them and those who still have violations but were not yet corrected,” he added.
The one-stop shop opened last July 30 and since then, its operation was “very orderly,” according to Cimatu.
Businesses have to secure the ECC, certificate of non-coverage, discharge permit, permit to operate, mayor’s permit, barangay clearance, Bureau of Internal Revenue annual registration, clearance certificate from the Social Security System, occupancy permit, garbage fee, sanitary permit, real property tax clearance (if applicable), and building permit, among others.
