β€œFor the first time we will try to unite WV because we share everything that happens here. The news achors will be joined by a group of dynamic Regional Correspondents from the region led by Zeny Grace Quilantang and Darylle Marie Sarmiento.

There are stringers all over the region that will send and contribute news. Veteran broadcaster Joecel Huesca is the program manager side by side with Rudjemar Sucaldito as Supervising Producer/Desk Editor.

With the advent of technology and social media, One Western Visayas also opens its doors to the public for them to contribute new.

β€œWe also welcome community journalism as we always want the community to be part of this through mobile journalism. We welcome contribution from the public,” Cabaluna added.

Meanwhile, GMA Western Visayas station manager Jonathan Cabillon said One Western Visayas aims to serve the needs of its Kapuso viewers in Region 6 as the primary source of news, information, and public service in the entire Western Visayas.

β€œWe prepared long and hard for this and finally it’s here – the first and only unified local newscast in Hiligayno,” Cabillon said.

GMA Regional TV Vice President and Head Oliver Amoroso said that with the full support of the Kapuso Network especially by its Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, and President and COO GilbertoR. Duavit Jr., GMA Regional TV is committed to produce regional programs that are attuned to stories, voices, and viewership outside of Metro Manila.

β€œIn an age when more and more people clamor for local news, GMA Regional TV remains firm on its belief that access to local new on free TV is a great equalizer. Local news plays an important role. While national reports on a wide scope, it is the local stories that directly affect families and immediate communities,” Amoro explained. (GLENDA TAYONA/PN)
