BACOLOD City – Only one company expressed interest to bid for one of the four multi-million flagship projects in the city yesterday.
Architect Ziebert Rigg Pestaño of ESJ and Sons Construction said they will pass their bidding application documents for the P350-million development of the Bacolod City College (BCC) today.
The company presented its proposed concept and design for the project, which will include the renovation of BCC’s main building and construction of an information system building, administration building and activity center.
“We complied with the stipulated terms of reference in the bidding process,” said Pestaño.
Should the contract be awarded to them, Pestaño said they will have to present a more detailed plan.
The construction of BCC’s activity center is “important” as it is a Commission on Higher Education requirement for accreditation, said Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
The activity center will be built on the 19,000-square meter lot at BCC’s main campus in Barangay Taculing, adjacent to the old City Engineering Office.
The other three flagship projects of the Leonardia administration were the P350-million development of the Progreso Village Relocation Site, P800-million construction of the Bacolod MassKara Coliseum and the P200-million road and bridge construction program.
These projects will be funded under the P1.7-billion loan of the city government from the Development Bank of the Philippines./PN
