BACOLOD City – The Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Council Against Trafficking and Anti-Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC) in this city have officially launched their 18-day campaign against Violence Against Women (VAW) on Wednesday, November 27.
The event, in connection with the 2024 National Children’s Month celebration, took place at SM City Bacolod, where the highlight was the unveiling of the Orange Help Desk, a crucial initiative designed to provide support and resources for victims of violence.
Present in the event were councilors Celia Flor and Simple Distrito, as well as representatives from various agencies such as the Bacolod City Fire Station, Bacolod City Police Office, the Department of Social Services and Development, social workers, and barangay VAW desk officers.
The 18-day campaign aims to raise awareness about the issue of violence against women and children, as well as promote preventive measures and support systems for those affected.
