ANTIQUE – A total of 1,225 household beneficiaries from five municipalities in Antique province graduated from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Graduation ceremonies for beneficiaries from Hamtic town (361), Bugasong (280), Patnongon (339), Belison (139), and Barbaza (106) were held on Jan. 24 and 25.

The households have no more children between zero and 18 years old availing cash grants for educational and health needs.

In Patnongon, the local government unit headed by Mayor Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo and Municipal Social Welfare Development Officer (MSWDO) Lilia J. Plameras led the graduation ceremonies.

Bacongallo encouraged the graduates to live fruitful lives and give back to the community that helped them.

“This is a win for our community that more than 300 households were helped by the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program,” said Bacongallo.

He inspired them by saying that their children may become future leaders.

Meanwhile, Laarni Pasangilan and Romeo Tinong expressed their utmost gratitude for being 4Ps beneficiaries for several years.

Currently, more than 400 families in Patnongon are being validated by the 4Ps municipal links to be included in the new batch of 4Ps-benefitting households.

Under the 4Ps program, an elementary school child has a P300 monthly subsidy, P500 for junior high school, and P700 for senior high school.

The family is also given P750 for their health needs and a P600 rice subsidy. (With reports from LGU-Patnongon and PNA)/PN
