THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that the “Kalayaan Job Fair” will post 16,500 job vacancies from 38 local companies and 25 overseas recruitment agencies.
The job fair will be held in Marymart Mall in Iloilo City and Robinsons Place Bacolod on June 12, in line with the celebration of the 116th Independence Day of the Philippines.
With the theme “Pagsunod sa Yapak ng mga Dakilang Pilipino, Tungo sa Malawakan at Permanenteng Pagbabago,” DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz noted it is a challenge for every Filipino, may they be workers or not.
In her Kalayaan message, Baldoz said that as a free country, widespread and enduring change can only be achieved if people follow the path our heroes have taken.
Meanwhile, DOLE-6 Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom hopes the number of companies and job vacancies will increase in the next few days.
He urges job seekers, especially fresh graduates to bring necessary documents for higher chances of being hired on-the-spot.
There will be a pre-registration on June 7-8 at the DOLE Iloilo-Guimaras Field Office, and on June 9-11 at the 2nd Floor of Marymart Mall to help job seekers find available jobs that will match their skills, Ligutom added.
The Kalayaan Job Fair will also partner with the Department of Trade and Industry to provide premium discount on products to be sold in the venue of the job fair.
The job fair is being spearheaded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Iloilo together with Panay Service Exporters Association and other employers’ group and partner agencies, among others./PN
