ILOILO City – Amid the coronavirus pandemic, at least 1,200 local full-time job opportunities await job seekers as global tech care company Asurion gears up to open its latest support customer service here.

The global company expands its presence in the Philippines – with Iloilo City as their first site outside Luzon.

“We are excited to expand our Philippine operations to Iloilo City, which will help us attract additional talent as the global demand for tech help continues to grow. We look forward to becoming a part of the Iloilo community,” said Gareth Boulton, Asurion Director of Care Operations in the country.

The company is opening its doors not just for Ilonggos, but for everyone who wanted to experience good job security and family-like working environment.

“Asurion genuinely connects and build relationships to customers. This is where you can feel you’re valued, heard at the same time grow and develop,” Boulton said in an interview with Panay News.

By next year, Asurion is expected to create learning spaces for technical support customer care representatives, with additional human resources, operations, training and support positions.

The robust hiring begins this week and will be held virtually.

“We need people who are not necessarily ‘techy,’ but someone who has ‘tech-curiosity,” Boulton noted.

All employees will work on-site starting January, with safety and social distancing guidelines and protocols in place.

Asurion’s new home will be the 76,000 square feet space at Two Fintech Place located at the Iloilo Business Park in the city’s Mandurriao district. The location will also provide additional office space to accommodate future growth.

“Every day, Asurion’s team of experts helps tens of thousands of people with their technology. From the busy professional who needs help troubleshooting Zoom to the excited shopper who wants help setting up and connecting their new smart TV,” added Boulton. “Asurion is committed to helping make people’s lives easier by unlocking the potential of their technology.”

Asurion has more than 19,000 employees worldwide and has operated in the Philippines since 2009. It currently employs more than 4,000 people across three facilities in the Philippines, including distribution center in Calamba City, an IT services facility in Manila and a customer service center in Santa Rosa, Laguna./PN
