BACOLOD City – Over 2,000 people participated in launching the LAKAD (Lipunin At Kalampagin Ang Droga) Tokhang program in the city.
LAKAD Tokhang is the Philippine National Police’s country-wide support program for its Double Barrel Reloaded campaign.
Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, officer-in-charge of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), and Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), led the activity held on Saturday.
“[The program] aims to raise awareness on the ill effects of drugs and encourage the community to [be] actively involved in the campaign against illegal drugs,” said Ebreo.
A parade started from the public plaza and ended at the Capitol Lagoon where a pledge of commitment (POC) was signed.
The POC symbolizes unity among all sectors in the antidrug campaign, Ebreo stressed.
Local officials, force multipliers, BCPO and Nocppo personnel, and other stakeholders joined the program./PN
