SAN JOSE, Antique – At least 31 different locations were selected to play host to the 26 sports events in the 60th edition of Palarong Pambansa, set to open on Sunday.
The Binirayan Sports Complex (BSC) will serve as host to the athletics, aquatics, basketball, football, futsal, gymnastics, tennis, pencak silat competitions, as well as the special Para sports events.
Aside from BSC, some basketball matches will also be held at the Barangay San Pedro Gymnasium, St. Vincent High School Gymnasium and the San Remigio Municipal Gymnasium.
Football games are to held at the Belison Football Field, the Gov. Julian Fullon Pacificador National High School in Hamtic, as well as the Saint Anthony’s College Grounds and University of Antique Grounds in Sibalom.
The Hamtic Basketball Court will also host futsal games, while a handful of the tennis action will be seen at the Barangay San Pedro Sports Plaza.
Volleyball matches will be at Barangay Egaña Gym, Sta. Rita Academy Gym, Sibalom Municipal Gym and University of Antique Gym, all in Sibalom, and at the St. Anthony’s College Bishop Martirez Hall.
Sepak Takraw games will be at the Angel Salazar Jr. School Covered Court, Diosdado Macapagal Trade Center Gym, Malandog Elementary School and the Barangay San Fernando Gym.
The other sporting events and their venues are: archery (Pis-anan National High School Track Oval), arnis (Patnongon Municipal Gym), badminton (St. Anthony’s College De Wit Hall), baseball and softball (Camp Gen. Leandro Fullon), boxing (EBJ Freedom Park), chess (University of Antique Library), table tennis (Antique Electric Cooperative Covered Gym) and taewondo (Belison Municipal Gym), Billiards (Robinson’s Place Antique), Wushu (Villavet-Jimenez Gym), wrestling (Hamtic Central Elementary School) and dance sport (Antique National High School)./PN
