CAPIZ – More than 32,000 Capisnons from all walks of life participated in the Unity Dance Cover of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) over the weekend.
The event, which was in line with the celebration of International Dance Day and National Arts Month, was spearheaded by the Capiz provincial government through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.
The event, staged at the Villareal Stadium as main venue as well as in the Provincial Park, Pueblo de Panay and Paseo del Rio, was attended by local dancers, employees of the provincial capitol and other government agencies, and residents, including kids.
The successful Unity Dance is proof that Capisnons can be one if everyone cooperates, according to the Capiz Provincial Government Communications Group.
NCCA Unity Dance is an advocacy and a call to come together and share the same aspirations—to unite people, cultures and nations.
Capiz will also host this year’s kick-off ceremony of the National Heritage Month on May 2.
To recall, Capiz was the pilot province for the cultural mapping conducted by the NCCA in 2015./PN
