ILOILO City – A total of 4,242 wanted individuals in Western Visayas were arrested by various police units under the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) from January to August this year.
Of these, 680 were classified as most wanted persons (MWP), according to the PRO-6 Public Information Office.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) had the most MWP arrested with 245, followed by the Iloilo PPO with 131, Bacolod City Police Office (CPO) with 86, Capiz PPO with 61, Antique PPO with 49, Aklan PPO with 47, Iloilo City Police Office with 36, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) with 18, and the Guimaras PPO with seven.
“Sa mga natitira pang may pananagutan sa batas, mas mabuti po kung kayo’y mag-surrender na sa ating kapulisan. Makakapagtago man kayo sa ngayon pero hindi ito habang buhay. Darating ang panahon na aabutin kayo ng mahabang kamay ng ating batas,” said Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, regional police director./PN
