SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) deployed 635 augmentation forces to 18 municipalities of the province to ensure a fair and peaceful conduct of the synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

APPO director Leo Irwin Agpangan led the send-off ceremony with Election Supervisor III Atty. Roberto Salazar at the APPO parade ground on Friday.

Agpangan told his personnel to remain unscathed after the May 14 polls.

Meanwhile, Salazar thanked the Police Regional Office 6 for sending additional forces to secure the conduct of elections in Antique.

Salazar acknowledged that some of the police personnel cannot vote on election day since they are not from Antique.

There will be two police officers who will be assigned for each polling precinct in Antique, according to APPO deputy director for operations Superintendent Norby Escobar.

There are 520 polling precincts in the province. (With a report from PNA/PN)
