Over 61T in Guimaras fully vaxxed vs COVID

GUIMARAS – More than 61,000 individuals in this province have already been fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), data from the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6 showed.

As of Dec. 6, 61,217 received either their second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine – this is 46.76 percent of the target vaccine-eligible population.

Here’s the breakdown of the fully vaccinated by vaccine brands:

* Sinovac – 27,337

* AstraZeneca – 4,773

* Pfizer – 20,617

* Moderna – 2,349

* Janssen – 6,141

On the other hand, 96,134 more individuals were waiting for their second dose to be considered fully vaccinated, too. Here’s the breakdown: Sinovac, 33,302; AstraZeneca, 17,638; Pfizer, 40,105; and Moderna, 5,189.

The total population of Guimaras is 187,011 – 70 percent of this or 130,908 is the target for vaccination.

As of Nov. 21 data, Guimaras received 207,624 COVID-19 vaccine doses from the national government. These were the following:

* Sinovac – 99,314

* AstraZeneca – 36,504

* Pfizer – 60,006

* Janssen – 6,000

* Moderna – 5,800

As of Dec. 10, Guimaras had six active COVID-19 cases left – two in Jordan town and one each in Buenavista, San Lorenzo, Sibunag, and Nueva Valencia.

As of that date, too, the coronavirus death toll in the island province was at 161./PN
