Over 94T Antiqueños fully vaccinated vs coronavirus

ANTIQUE – As of Oct. 11, 94,139 Antiqueños have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 showed.

This figure is 21.22 percent of the target 432,452 population for vaccination.

On the other hand, 86,413 Antiqueños or (19.98 percent) are now waiting for their second doses of COVID-19 vaccines to be considered fully vaccinated.

Vaccination in Antique is slow, according to DOH, and it traces this to the insufficient vaccines allocated to the province.

As of Oct. 2, 254,050 vaccine doses have been delivered to Antique, according to DOH.

Here’s the breakdown of the vaccines that have been delivered so far:

* Sinovac – 183,550 doses

* AstraZeneca – 17,820 doses

* Pfizer – 10,320 doses

* Gamaleya – 4,800 doses

* Moderna – 11,560 doses

* Janssen – 26,316 doses

Vaccination is ongoing targeting healthcare workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities and the indigent.

The provincial government targets to vaccinate 50 percent of the target population by the end of December 2021, or 216,226 Antiqueños.

As of Oct. 13, Antique had 230 active COVID-19 cases, 5,459 cases that recovered and 275 cases that died./PN
