ROXAS City – In two separate buy-bust operations here on June 10, two drug suspects yielded a combined 33 grams of shabu valued at more than P230,000.
Joint elements of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6), Roxas City police station, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 6, and the Anti-Illegal Drug Team carried out the operation.
Marjon Vasquez alias Marjz Sky Vasquez, a 40-year-old resident of Barangay Lanot, was arrested at around 6:50 p.m. on Calipayan Street, Barangay Punta Tabuc.
A police poseur buyer bought from him a plastic of shabu for P11,500, police said.
Operatives recovered six plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a cellular phone, P300 cash, a motorcycle and the P11,500 buy bust money.
The seized suspected shabu weighing more or less eight grams had an estimated value of P56,000.
At about 9 p.m. of the same day, another drug suspect was arrested on Fortune Street, Barangay Banica.
Ricardo Alovera was 40-year-old resident of Barangay Inzo. A poseur buyer bought from him a sachet of suspected shabu for P11,200.
Operatives recovered nine more plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a cellular phone, a motorcycle, P850 cash, and other non-drug items including identification cards.
The confiscated suspected shabu weighing more or less 25 grams was valued at P175,000.
According to Police Lieutenant Glenn Soliman, RPDEU-6 team leader, both suspects were listed as “street level drug personalities”.
They were tracked through conversations in the cellphones of previous arrested drug personalities.
“Illegal drugs affect the mental and physical health of a person. I am appealing to both users and sellers to stop their illegal activities. We will not stop chasing them,” Soliman said.
The arrested suspects were taken to the Roxas City police station. They would be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
