AKLAN – More than P300,000 worth of jewelry and P60,000 in cash were taken by unidentified thieves in a house in Barangay Jugas, New Washington town in this province.
Edelyn Pioquid said they left their house at around 12 noon on Friday, August 9, to go to Kalibo for her mother’s medical checkup.
At around 3 p.m. when they went back home, their stuff were scattered on the floor, cabinets were left open and a jewelry box was empty.
According to the investigation of the New Washington Municipal Police Station, the house was ransacked at around 2 p.m.
Police added that around 10 individuals entered the house and broke the emergency exit window to exit.
As of this writing, New Washington police were still investigating the incident to identify the suspects./PN
