ANTIQUE – More than P38,000 worth of illegal firecrackers and boga were disposed of by the Antique Police Provincial Office Antique (PPO).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Angelo Pueblos, deputy provincial director for operations under the supervision of provincial director Police Colonel Alexander Mariano, led the ceremonial disposal of the holiday noisemakers.
A total of 333 pieces of boga worth P21,280 were ran over by a road roller machine and assorted firecrackers worth P17,000 were destroyed through water submission.
This was witnessed by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Canine Unit-Antique, and the local media.
On Saturday, a region-wide simultaneous disposal of illegal firecrackers confiscated during the holidays was held by police provincial offices./PN
