BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth more than half a million pesos was seized from a house in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental, police said.

The house owners – Cydee Bajande and wife Jonah, both 37 years old – were arrested.

Wielding a search warrant, Silay City police searched the Bajande couple’s house in Carmella Subdivision at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Superintendent Noel Polines, Silay police head, said they were mainly after Cydee, whom he identified as a “high-value target” in the local police’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Cydee was a “runner,” or courier, of a drug group, claimed Polines.

Twelve plastic packs of suspected shabu with a street value of P520,000 were seized from the couple.

The Bajandes were detained at Silay City police station.

They face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
