CEBU City – Methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth some P1.1 million was recovered in a follow-up operation in Consolacion, Cebu, a police report showed.
The illegal drugs weighing 100 grams were found in a culvert in Barangay Pulpogan 1 barely a day after the arrest of three drug suspects in the village around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The 35-year-old Cris Ortega, Jenny Jaime, 32, and Geran Ligan, 29, were detained, the report stated. Jaime is six months pregnant, police said.
Recovered from them during the drug buy-bust operation were six sachets of shabu valued at P1,700, added the police.
During the interrogation, Ortega told the police the location of the illegal drugs, which was well-hidden in the concreted sewer near his house.
The suspects were detained at the Consolacion police station lockup facility and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With PNA/PN)
