P1.2M ‘shabu’ seized in La Paz

ILOILO City – Around P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from a high-value drug suspect in Barangay Baldoza, La Paz district.

The 23-year-old suspect, Romulo Venta, was a resident of La Paz district.

He was arrested by officers of the Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) around 3 p.m. yesterday after an undercover police bought from him P24,500 worth of suspected shabu.

Police also confiscated six more sachets of suspected shabu, weighing a total of 150 grams and valued at around P1,224,000.

“He (Venta) was our priority target and he was under surveillance. But luckily our comrades from Camp Crame got him,” said Police Major Jose Val Ladublan, La Paz police chief.

Police added that the suspect got his items from Bacolod City.

Dalagko gina-deal na items kag bag-o lang siya kakuha sang drugs sa source niya, amo na daku nakuha sa iya,” Ladublan said.

The suspect was detained at the La Paz police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
