P1.3-M ‘shabu’ seized in NegOcc drug busts

BACOLOD City – An estimated P1,304,800 worth of suspected shabu were seized from separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental province recently. Four drug suspects were also apprehended.

The successful operation by Bacolod City’s Police Station 5 personnel resulted in the arrest of two individuals at Capitol Subdivision in Barangay Granada at around 6:05 p.m. on Jan. 6.

“Kid,” tagged by police as a high-value suspect, and “Jessa,” were taken into custody after allegedly selling suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.

Law enforcement officers seized 21 sachets of the illegal substance, totaling approximately 86 grams, with an estimated street value of P584,800.

In a separate operation earlier on the same day, suspect “Romel” was apprehended at Crossing Central in Barangay 13, Victorias City.

The operation around 12:47 a.m. resulted in the seizure of approximately 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P204,000.

A .38 caliber revolver and ammunition were also recovered from “Romel’s” possession.

On Friday afternoon, Jan. 5, at Zone 5, Purok Neptune in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, a buy-bust was conducted against suspects “Lizel” and “Escobar.”

The police seized approximately 76 grams of the illegal substance valued at P516,000.

“Lizel” was apprehended while her live-in partner “Escobar” managed to flee.

Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the arrested individuals.
