P1.7M up in smoke in Cadiz fire

BACOLOD City – Fire struck a house in Grandville Subdivision in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The local Bureau of Fire Protection office estimated the cost of damage at P1.7 million.

An electric fan that overheated caused the blaze at around 3:20 a.m. Friday, Fire Officer 1 Ryan Tacsagon said, citing investigation.

The house was owned by the couple Francis and Judy Entuna.

Firefighters were able to put the blaze under control after almost an hour.

A small portion of the house was damaged while the rest were gutted, fire investigators said./PN
