ILOILO City – A drug pushing suspect was arrested in Zone 6, Barangay Hibao-an Sur, Mandurriao district.

Joewen Diamante Lo, alias “Ompong”, 26, was a resident of the place.

A police poseur-buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu from Lo for P7,000, and five more sachets of suspected shabu were found in a small brown envelope together with drug paraphernalia.

All six sachets of suspected shabu weighed 15 grams and had an estimated market value of P102,000.

The operation was conducted by the Iloilo City Police Station 5 (Mandurriao), led by Police Captain Val Cambel, together with the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), headed by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., at around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.

The suspect was placed under surveillance for almost two weeks before the operation.

Cambel, in the interview with Radyo Bandera Iloilo, said the suspect’s supply came from Barangay Bakhaw, also in Mandurriao.

Lo served jail time in 2022 for illegal drug charges and was released recently, Cambel added.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Mandurriao police and would face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
