P100K worth of smuggled cigarettes seized in San Carlos

BACOLOD City – Police confiscated P100,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes from a businessman at a checkpoint on C.L. Ledesma Avenue in Barangay 1, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Alias “Michael,” 45, and a resident of the city’s Barangay 5, was onboard his pickup truck around 10:45 p.m. on May 6 when flagged down by the police.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, deputy chief of the San Carlos City Police Station, said the suspect also failed to present his driver’s license.

Michael was taken into custody by the San Carlos City police for proper disposition./PN
