The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6 said the P5.1-million FMR, spanning 312 meters would benefit barangays Cabadiangan and Mambagaton in Himamaylan City.
“Residents and farmers can now go to work and to other places safely, easily and reliably,” said DPWH-6 director Nerie Bueno.
In Barangay San Benito, Moises Padilla tow , a P19.9-million concrete access road going to the Kaitulari Ecopark in the upland village of Guinpana-an has been constructed. It is a joint project of the DPWH and the Department of Tourism.
“The road serves as a detour route going to neighboring towns and leisure places,” Bueno said.
In Bacolod City, a P77.2-million paved road made travel to Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in the neighboring town of Murcia easier.
The 1.02-kilometer road, constructed by the DPWH as part of the Tourism Road Infrastructure Project, stretches from the Benigno S. Aquino Drive to Barangay 23.
“This road-concreting project aims to provide direct accessibility and ease in transportation to local markets and economic zones,” Bueno said.
Part of the project was to improve the drainage system, which would help address flooding during the rainy season, she added. (PNA)/PN
