ILOILO City – Sixteen grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P102,000 were confiscated from a drug peddler in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district.
Officers of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Iloilo City Police Station 9 (ICPS-9) caught tricycle driver Eugene Ricaforte, 48, a resident of the village, around 1:25 a.m. on Saturday, July 20.
Police also recovered P3,000 in buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.
In a Panay News interview, Captain Jeffrey Delgado, officer-in-charge of ICPS-9, said Ricaforte was being monitored for a week before the operation.
Delgado added that the suspect got his supply of illegal drugs from Dumangas town.
The suspect, who admitted to using illegal drugs, will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
