BACOLOD City – An estimated P13.6-million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport last night.

The suspected illegal drug contained in 23 plastic packs weighing about two kilos were seized from residents Regine Arroz, 28; June Mark Ibe, 28; and Shiela Mhary Balarao, 34, of Barangay Palara Norte, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, police said.

The suspects initially sold a sachet to a police agent for P1,000. 

Operatives of Police Station 8 said the prohibited substance – concealed in boxes of cereals and milk –was sourced from Metro Manila.

The suspects were detained and charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
