ILOILO – A grocery store was ransacked in Bangga Bante, Barangay Jalaud Norte, Zarraga town.
An estimated P130,000 worth of alcoholic drinks, cigarettes and cash were stolen from the establishment.
Store owner Redlilia Pedregosa of Barangay San Vicente, Leganes reported the incident to the Zarraga Municipal Police Station (MPS) shortly after discovering the break-in on Saturday morning, Nov. 18.
Police Captain Raffy Señeres, chief of Zarraga MPS, said the perpetrators managed to gain entry by breaking two padlocks on the main gate and a secondary foldable metal gate.
The method suggested an inside job and planned burglary, he added.
After reviewing the footage from the town’s surveillance cameras, it was determined that three individuals entered the shop at around 1 a.m. and left on a tricycle.
Señeres stated that due to a power outage, they have yet to review the footage from the barangay’s surveillance camera, which was closer to the scene./PN
