CEBU City – A suspected big-time drug trafficker was arrested on Tuesday dawn in Barangay Pasil.
Police also confiscated some P14.8 million worth of shabu during the buy-bust operation.
Melchor Ocarol, 53, was a high-value target, according to Chief Inspector Christopher Navida, head of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Intelligence Branch.
Ocarol is the brother of former Pasil barangay captain Romeo Ocarol.
Police recovered from Ocarol’s house several plastic packs of shabu weighing 1.255 kilograms and worth P14,809,000, Navida said.
According to Navida, a number of drug suspects the police arrested earlier mentioned Ocarol as their source.
Police conducted surveillance at Ocarol’s house for a month prior to the operation past 2 a.m. on Tuesday.
Ocarol was detained at the CCPO pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
