P170K’ shabu’ seized in Molo

ILOILO City – A 37-year-old woman in Barangay North Baluarte, Molo district yielded more or less 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at P170,000.

The buy-bust operation against suspect Monaliza Dela Cruz Flores alias “Bebe” was conducted at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 19.

Police Captain Roque Gimeno, team leader of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, in an interview with xFM Iloilo, said Flores was monitored for nearly a month prior to the sting operation.

“Ang background sang aton gin dakop subong is ga-push. More or less 15 to 40 [grams] per month ang iya nadala. Ang iya mode of operation is gabaligya sa mga kilala niya. Ang iya mga utod, ang duha daw ara na sa BJMP [Bureau of Jail Management and Penology], ang isa na-accuse ligad daw [Republic Act] 9165 man nga case,” said Gimeno.

He added: “Ang source sang iya droga is daw iya stepbrother, which is ara sa New Bilibid Prison.”

The suspect, now detained at the Molo police station, faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
