ILOILO City – A pedicab driver yielded P1,020,000 worth of suspected shabu in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
Police confiscated 150 grams of suspected shabu from 32-year-old Geovany P. Gozon, the No. 2 priority target of the Mandurriao police and classified as a high-value suspect by the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).
Joint operatives of the Mandurriao police and the CDEU carried out the buy-bust.
“Three days ago, may nag-inform nga gabaligya siya [Gozon] kag may manug abot nga drugs, that is why gin-monitor naton,” said Colonel Joeresty Coronica, ICPO director.
The suspect’s alleged source was a certain “Nognog.”
“Bali siya [Gozon], downline siya ni Nognog,” said Coronica.
Punong Barangay Joel Alvarado of Barangay Bakhaw also confirmed that Gozon was in the watchlist of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council./PN
