BACOLOD City – Officers of the San Carlos City Component Police Station arrested two individuals and seized firearms and around P2,332,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Guadalupe, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Ronilo,” a 29-year-old construction worker from Barangay Tigbon, Calatrava town, and “Hutch,” 37, and a resident of Barangay Vito, Sagay City.
Police said they were conducting a mapping investigation in relation to the mall heist in the city around 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, when they chanced upon the suspects acting suspicious.
When police approached them, one of the suspects pulled out his gun but authorities were quick to arrest them.
Recovered from the suspects were approximately 343 grams of suspected shabu, two caliber .45 pistols, two magazines for caliber .45, and 10 live ammunition.
The suspects were detained at the San Carlos City Component Police Station. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, urged police personnel across the region to remain vigilant during patrols, emphasizing the importance of spotting and intercepting potential lawless elements.
