BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth some P220,000 was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental, police said.
The suspected illegal drugs contained in 12 plastic sachets were confiscated from the 42-year-old resident Benjie Ino Placido, a newly identified drug personality.
Placido was caught after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P3,500 around 3:05 p.m. on Monday.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit staged the operation.
Aside from the suspected drugs, a cellphone was also confiscated from Placido.
Placido, detained in the lockup cell of the Silay City police station, faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
