BACOLOD City – The Local School Board approved a P22.117-million budget for the repair and improvement of public elementary and secondary schools in this capital city this year.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia, chairman of the Local School Board, said he wants to implement the projects as soon as possible.
The budget will be sourced from the Special Education Fund, which will come from two other allocations – the 2018 city budget (P15.1 million) and the 2017 school building fund (P7.017 million).
The 15.1 million will be spent for the repair of 11 schools.
Corazon Locsin Montelibano Elementary School; Rizal Elementary School; Andres Bonifacio Elementary School II; Education and Training Center School (ETCS) I, II and III; and Apolinario Mabini Elementary School will get P1.6 million each.
A total of P1.2 million was allocated for Vista Alegre Elementary School, Don Alfredo Montelibano Elementary School and F.F. Gonzaga Elementary School.
Mariano G. Medalla Integrated School gets P300,000.
Some P7.017 million will be divided among 21 schools for the improvement of their facilities.
The newly opened ETCS IV will get P2 million while Apolinario Mabini Elementary School gets P1.2 million; Mariano G. Medalla Integrated School, P440,000; Bata National High School and Handumanan National High School, P433,000 each; Bacolod City National High School, P229,000; Emiliano Lizares National High School and Mansilingan Agro-Industrial High School, P274,000 each; Fr. Gratian Murray AFSC Integrated School, P196,000; Handumanan Elementary School I, P188,000; Luis Hervias National High School, P175,000;
Jovito Sayson National High School, Mandalagan National High School and Romanito Maravilla National High School, P130,000 each; Antonio L. Jayme Elementary School, Luisa Medel National High School, Teofilo Gensoli National High School, Alangilan National High School, and Sum-ag National High School, P115,000 each; and Paglaum Village National High School and Handumanan Elementary School II, P105,000 each.
