P3.7-M ‘shabu’ seized, 13 drug peddlers arrested in week-long ops in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) intensified campaign against illegal drugs from September 16 to 22 resulted to the seizure of 544.57 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P3,702,396.

The week-long anti-illegal drugs drive also arrested 13 drug suspects from 13 operations.

All suspects are now under police custody. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) were filed against them.

Additionally, officers of the BCPO led by Colonel Joeresty Coronica executed 11 operations targeting wanted persons, leading to the arrest of two most wanted individuals and nine others facing various charges.

In efforts against loose firearms, two operations resulted in the confiscation of one firearm and the arrest of one suspect. Also, during an annual firearms verification, one more firearm and two explosives were surrendered to the police.

The BCPO also collared three individuals and confiscated P985 in bet money in the campaign against illegal gambling./PN
