P30-K bonus for Ceneco employees questioned

BACOLOD City – The Utilities Consumers Alliance of Negros (UCAN) has urged the Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. to exercise prudence in giving bonuses and to explain why it is granting a huge amount to its employees.

UCAN legal counsel Vicente Petierre said they are seeking an explanation for the basis of the supposed P30,000 anniversary bonus.

For his part, Ceneco vice president Roy Cordova, said the utility cooperative provides P7,000 bonuses for each of their workers annually.

He noted that management recommended upping the amount to P30,000.

He explained, upon release, P4,000 will be deducted for Ceneco performance standards.

However, Ceneco Member-Consumers Integrated Services Division chief Roel Venus affirmed, β€œWe have not received anything from the P30,000.”

β€œWhat we have received this month, representing our anniversary bonus, was an amount of P7,000,” he stated.

Venus said the P30,000 proposal still needs the approval of the National Electrification Administration./PN
