ROXAS City – Two women were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in this capital city, a police report showed.

They were the 45-year-old Rowena Billanes of Panay, Capiz and 24-year-old Princess Arenajo of Ivisan, Capiz, police said.

Roxas City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Senior Inspector Armando Clavanto conducted on Friday the sting operation that led to the confiscation of five sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P30,000.

Also recovered from the suspects’ possession were two improvised tooters, a lighter, an aluminum foil, a weighing scale, and P500 marked money.

Billanes, a lesbian, temporarily resides at the Germano Subdivision in Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City. She met Arenajo after the latter was sacked from her work in Boracay due to its looming closure. They have a romantic relationship.

Billanes and Arenajo told the police that their illegal drug activities cover four villages in the city – Dayao, Milibili, Tiza and 9.

They were detained at the Roxas City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
