BACOLOD City – Another big drug haul was recorded in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Suspected shabu worth some P320,000 contained in seven plastic sachets was recovered from a man in a drug buy-bust operation at Bangga Patyo in Barangay 4, Silay City, a police report showed.
Silay City police head Superintendent Noel Polines identified the man as the 35-year-old Anthony Barbella of Barangay Bagtic, Silay City.
Barbella was caught after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P3,300 around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Aside from the suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, a cellphone and P470 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions were also recovered from Barbella.
Barbella was detained in the lockup cell of Silay City police station. He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On Monday, a 19-year-old man was also caught in a drug sting operation in Barangay 3, Silay City.
Suspected shabu worth about P400,000 was recovered from Joseph “Jack” Garrucho of Barangay Rizal, Silay City, police said./PN
