BACOLOD City – An ex-prisoner was back in jail after he was apprehended in a drug buy-bust operation on Saturday morning, May 18, in Purok Chariza II, Barangay 27 in this city.
The suspect was identified as Gelo Vergel, 20 years old, and a resident of the aforementioned barangay.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 (PDEA 6) carried out the operation.
Recovered from the suspect were nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 59 grams and valued at around P340,000.
Vergel was previously imprisoned for a drug-related case and was freed recently.
He was detained at the custodial facility of Bacolod City Police Station 4.
He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
