BY DOMINIQUE GABRIEL G. BAÑAGA

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday morning distributed a total of P36-million worth of housing assistance to 7,284 beneficiaries, all victims of super typhoon “Odette” in Kabankalan City.

According to Lacson, Kabankalan City was allocated a bigger budget from the NHA assistance because it was one of the badly hit areas.

Each beneficiary received P5,000.

During his short speech to the beneficiaries, Lacson explained that the distribution of the assistance was delayed due to the election spending ban.

Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, meanwhile, noted that some recipients already received a total of P13,000 each as housing assistance.
Those who incurred partially damaged houses were given P3,000, and P4,000 for totally damaged, houses from the city government of Kabankalan, plus P5,000 from the NHA coursed through the city government./PN
