ILOILO City – Suspected shabu valued over P400,000 was seized in Barangay San Pedro, Molo district.
Drug pushing suspect Andrea Ledesma Rase, alias “Ay-ay”, 33, of West Habog-Habog, Molo was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 4:50 p.m. on Friday, May 19.
She handed over a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P12,000.
The operation was conducted by joint elements of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPS), the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and the ICPS-4 (Molo PNP) Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez, CDEU chief, said Rase was placed under surveillance for almost a week before the buy-bust.
A total of seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 60 grams and a market value of P408,000 were recovered.
The suspect was taken to the Molo police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against her./PN
