P408K ‘shabu’ seized in Arevalo

ILOILO City – Sixty grams of suspected shabu valued at around P408,000 were seized in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Yulo Drive, Arevalo district around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

A suspect was also arrested – Arlene Igpuara alias “Tomboy”, a 32-year-old resident of Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo district.

Police caught Igpuara after handing over a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P12,000.

Officers of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RDEU-6) confiscated a total of 24 sachets of suspected shabu, a cellphone and P150,000 cash believed to be illegal drug proceeds, according to Police Lieutenant Glen Soliman, team leader.

The suspect was detained at the Arevalo police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
